Ginkgo
In only an hour the ginkgo shed
its store of leaves.
I sat outside in the morning sun
and watched them shower the ground
until they formed a golden lake.
There’s grace in letting go.

Festival of the Trees
There’s still time to get your submissions in for April’s Festival of the Trees. The festival will be hosted by Roger Butterfield at Words and Pictures. You may send your entry to roger (dot) butterfield (at) gmail (dot) com, or use the submission form at Blog Carnival. The deadline is March 30.
Ginkgo Sundays: House and Garden
Livinglass is one of those products that makes you think of all the ways you could use it. Pictured above is one of two ginkgo designs offered by the company; you can find the other on this page (assuming that you don’t get distracted by all of the other possibilities). What you’re looking at is real ginkgo leaves sandwiched inside laminated architectural glass.
If I were using this in my house, I’d use it as a sidelight by the front door, or in the potential bathroom remodel. The possibilities, however, are limited only by your imagination (mine also imagines a slightly different pattern, with drifting ginkgo leaves, some in the air, with a big pile at the bottom).

Ginkgo Wednesdays: Photography
This photograph is my first personal contribution to my own ginkgo blog. Until late December, I hadn’t owned a camera for several years and so was unable to contribute my own photos.
Snow remains only where it was once piled highest, and a few spring flowers have poked through brown patches of grass. The ginkgo trees are not idle, either, but it will be some time before we begin to see the action.
I’ll keep you posted.
